Due to the current situation in Lebanon, the Beirut Energy Week 2024 (BEW24) scheduled for October 23 – 25, 2024 under the theme of “Energy Highways – Expediting Regional Cooperation” is cancelled. Countdown to the next Beirut Energy Week in 2025. See you next year!

Beirut Energy Week 2024

Energy remains as a main existential challenge for countries, societies, and communities all over the world and the risks associated with fluctuating energy prices and energy availability and volatility have increased exponentially, threatening national economies and the wellbeing of people. Countries could do a lot by working independently; but the real impact could only be sensed by implementing regional initiatives and programs, or simply put “Energy Highways”. Initiated under the theme of “Energy Highways: Expediting Regional Cooperation”, the Beirut Energy Week 2024 aims at strengthening the dynamics of sustainable energy development, fighting climate change, and ensuring economic growth.

The World as we know today stands at a crossroad: fighting climate change while ensuring economic development; accelerating the green energy transition while still considering oil and gas as national resources; pushing development agendas forward while investing in smart and innovative solutions.

As the clock is ticking on the irreversible impacts of climate change and the heavy economic burdens of reliance on fossil fuels, hope in the capacity and capabilities of societies to avoid this doomed destiny surfaces constantly. The rapid development of sustainable energy projects all over the world coupled with the implementation of new technologies and innovations mark an increasingly-interesting path towards a better future, though not fast enough.

Amidst this global and regional context, the “Beirut Energy Week 2024”presents itself as a main platform for “energy highways”. Energy leaders from Lebanon, the Arab countries and other parts of the world will be invited to join efforts during three days of the upcoming Beirut Energy Week 2024 to contribute to advancing green energy transition projects, using the fast lane of “energy highways”. Only committed leaders could help create and sustain “energy highways” as the best tool to “expedite regional cooperation”.

A faster and more efficient momentum is what the world needs today, and the Beirut Energy Week 2024 strives to make this happen. Join us.

The Event

Expected to gather around 1,000 delegates from more than 40 countries, the Beirut Energy Week 2024 will spread over a period of 3 days in the capital city Beirut. The Beirut Energy Week 2024 will include a 3-day conference agenda, an exhibition space for meetings and interactions, and proudly for the first time the “Regional Conference on Power and Energy Sustainability” (RCPES). The RCPES is a scientific conference hosted by the Beirut Energy Week 2024.

The Beirut Energy Week has proven to be one of the most reputable and professional energy events in the Middle East, an event specifically dedicated to the grand energy transition, joining renewable energy, natural gas, and most importantly hydrogen. The Beirut Energy Week yearly gathers energy leaders focused and determined to find reliable and long-term solutions.

Held in partnership with the Lebanon Committee of the World Energy Council (WEC) and with the support of the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation (LCEC), the Beirut Energy Week 2024 is expected to be a beacon for promoting regional coordination, under the unified theme “Energy Highways: Expediting Regional Cooperation”.

Touching on all subjects from renewable energy and energy efficiency to natural gas and green hydrogen, the Beirut Energy Week 2024 offers a ray of hope, hope still being the secret recipe towards a better sustainable future endowed with peace and prosperity.

A cohort of newcomers will join this year’s version of the Beirut Energy Week 2024 as university professors and researchers will meet for the first edition of the RCPES, a strategic scientific conference dedicated to energy sustainability.

The Beirut Energy Week 2024 will also be a platform for companies and entities to showcase successes and innovations as part of the accompanying exhibition space.

Meet us at Le Royal Hotel in Beirut, Lebanon from 23 to 25 October 2024, and join energy leaders carrying a message of hope, faith, and a will for a better tomorrow.

Program Highlights

In full harmony with the year’s theme “Energy Highways: Expediting Regional Cooperation”, many sessions of the Beirut Energy Week 2024 will be dedicated to the role that regional cooperation could play in creating “energy highways”, efficient, reliable, and scale-up paths to boost the global energy transition.

Whether it is at the level of electricity interconnections, natural gas pipelines, or even green hydrogen ships and carriers, countries can no longer act as solo players. Beirut Energy Week 2024 will investigate initiatives and solutions to integrate Lebanon in regional cooperation with many Arab countries and also with Cyprus, Greece, and beyond.

Green hydrogen is gaining more and more its reputation as an asset that gains value with more integration. Beirut Energy Week will take the lead in pushing green hydrogen agendas to the next level.

Solar energy, specifically photovoltaic systems, has become a major game changer in Lebanon as well as in other countries. Whether grid-connected or off-grid with battery storage, a race for solar PV systems with better efficiencies and robust quality is still on its way.

Various policy measures could help sustain and impact a growing sustainable energy market. Among the initiatives currently under consideration and implementation, the introduction of Energy Attributes Certificates (EACs), such as IRECs, stands out as a pivotal step. The Beirut Energy Week 2024 will push forward in that direction.

In addition, the Beirut Energy Week 2024 will be featuring interesting presentations, round table discussions, virtual site visits and sharing case studies with the aim to elaborate action plans, projects, and programs and work for a prosperous future for Lebanon and the entire region. It is delicately curated to deliver an immersive learning and networking experience through a series of rich content, deep insights and virtual engagement tools.

The event will also cover a large number of emerging subjects in Lebanon and the region, including solar energy, wind, energy efficiency, heat pumps, and most importantly financing.
